When can a child with
disabilities apply for and/or receive
adult services?
Since the eligibility and the
application process can take some months
to complete, it is always a good idea to
apply for services as soon as you become
aware of their necessity, even if such
is in the future. Applying for services
early will ensure that there is no
interruption in services upon graduation
from your child’s special education
program. You may also consider applying
for family support and/or respite care
while your child is still in school.
